The Nigerian online space is buzzing after two separate prophets — one based in Nigeria and another in Ghana — claimed to have received visions about the death of outspoken activist VeryDarkMan (VDM).

The first prophecy came from an unidentified Nigerian pastor who, speaking in Yoruba to his congregation, warned:

“There are activists in this country that they will soon end in Nigeria. One of the activists will be imprisoned. The other one will be killed because they said they have nothing to lose.”

Many Nigerians immediately linked this to VDM, well-known for his bold statement that he has “nothing to lose” while fearlessly calling out corruption, fraud, and celebrity scandals.

The Ghanaian Vision: A River and Bad Politicians

In the second video, a Ghanaian prophet addressed him directly:

“This is for VDM. Bad politicians have taken him to a river. VDM is dead in the river but still alive in the physical world. And it’s very bad for your face to be inside a river. Whether VDM likes it or not, he will leave the world unexpectedly.”

The vivid imagery sparked debates across social media. Some dismissed it as a publicity tactic, while others urged the activist to take extra precautions.

VDM’s Fearless Reaction

On Sunday, VDM responded via his Instagram page. Staying true to his fearless image, he made it clear he wasn’t shaken by the prophecies.

“You heard the pastor,” he said. “Although he didn’t mention my name, he made reference to what I usually say — I have nothing to lose. You are seeing vision for me as if I’m important. I’m not important. Death is inevitable and is coming for all of us.”

He then challenged the prophets:
“Tell us a vision about our country. Tell us when Nigeria will be a great country.”

Why His Response Resonates

In a country where prophetic declarations about celebrities often go viral, VDM’s reply struck a chord. Many Nigerians agree that more attention should be given to visions about national progress rather than personal tragedies.

Social media reactions were mixed — from humorous takes to calls for prayer and protection. One X (Twitter) user wrote: “Only in Nigeria will they see vision for celebrities, but never for when fuel will reduce.”

The Bigger Picture

Whether or not these prophecies hold any weight, VDM’s stance reflects his consistent refusal to be intimidated. He has built a reputation as one of Nigeria’s loudest activist voices, and this latest saga only fuels the conversation about the intersection of faith, prophecy, and public life in Nigeria.

For now, the activist remains unfazed — reminding Nigerians that while death is certain, the fight for a better country must continue.
